by arupchou on May 20, 2011

Chrome is growing, and it is growing thick and fast. Google has now scaled up the version of Chrome to 13 and the version is being Chrome Logodeveloped by Google’s engineers. Chrome 13.0.767.1 at present is now in the dev-channel Windows, Mac and Linux. Working on Chrome 13 means that finalization of Chrome 12 is very much on the cards.

Features In Chrome 13

Though much about Chrome 13 is not known, yet one of the biggest changes to accompany Chrome 13 is its support for Linux. The user interface is also expected to see changes in Chrome 13. Browser navigation toolbar may be totally hidden, while the forward and the back buttons are moved into the tab bar.

If users want to access the URL textbox, then user has to click browser tab. However, at this moment several bugs need to be fixed in Chrome 13 and a lot of work needs to be done before the stable version of the browser is finally released. Quick development of different versions of the browser will surly make Chrome’s competitors to think and ramp up their development of different versions of the browser.

One exciting development to come out of Google’s recent announcement of their Chrome OS has been the support for Trusted Computing through the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) chip built into the specification from the ground up, but first, a slight aside. There are two operating systems, Chrome OS and Chromium OS, both of which support TPM, and both are basically identical, mirroring the similar Google’s Chrome and Chromium web browsers. The Chrome version is Google’s own branded version, the Chromium is the Open Source public release, but both in theory use the same code base. From here on I will use the more familiar Chrome term, although the applicable version of the browser and operating system is Chromium.
