Today Google Chrome Beta channel got updated with Beta 3.0.195.4. There has been a whole lot of changes and feature additions in this Beta update. First of all the most significant change has been the support for themes. As we know Google yesterday made their chrome themes gallery live, so this update was being expected sooner rather than later.
Even Faster Google Chrome?
According to the official chrome blog, this new beta update is 30% faster than the current Stable version, though comparing it with the current developer build, i did not notice any changes in terms of speed. There have been improvements in Javascript execution, much more efficient DNS caching and DOM bindings to load pages faster than earlier. One interesting feature i liked is that new page requests are prioritized to open before continuing older page requests.
Customize New Tab Page, Omnibox, HTML 5 Features

A nice feature in the developer’s build was the custom new tab page, which has now been imported to the Beta update as well. You can now move the thumbnails and pin he thumbnail to a particular spot so that it sticks there. The Omnibox has been updated as well and it now shows icons of suggested websites to distinguish between and one can also experience HTML 5 capabilities in this beta build.
Support For Themes In Beta Release
Customization in terms of themes, addons and extensions is the most wanted feature users want in Google Chrome. Well earlier it was limited to only Developer Builds, but now this new Beta update supports themes as well. Probably a sign that the next stable release would also get themes support. You can download the themes from the Official Chrome Themes Gallery. There have been themes released by 3rd party developers on our Chrome Themes Forum as well from where you can download.
With so many changes coming along really nicely, i believe the next Stable release will help pull a lot of users from other browsers over to Google Chrome.
