It seems that 2011 is going to be a significant year for Google’s Chrome Products. Chrome Browser, which ended the bygone year by
notching up a market share of 10% has started to take giant strides in becoming the most popular web browser in coming times. According to Global Stat’s Index by web analytics firm StatCounter Chrome has started to overtake Firefox in several markets of the world particularly in the Middle East.
Chrome Surpassing Firefox In Several Middle East Countries
Last year, Jordan became the first country in the Middle East where Chrome’s market share surpassed Firefox. Chrome’s market share in the country stood at 22.17% as compared to Firefox’s 18.85% in December.
Not only in Jordan, but in Lebanon, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and in the UAE too, Chrome has edged passed Firefox. In countries like Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman, Chrome is narrowing down the bridge rapidly and is just 2% behind Firefox in market share. However, Firefox is way ahead of Chrome in countries like Egypt, Syria and Yemen.
Meanwhile, Internet Explorer continues to lead the way worldwide although its overall market share has dropped followed by Firefox. But Chrome is closely catching up and in coming days, the browser war is going to further intensify.

I am from Saudi Arabia ..
and Yeah .. Chrome here is becoming more popular by the minute !
But still a lot of people just know IE .. because it is the most popular one . Though when you compare them Chrome is lighter and quicker !
The problem in Chrome is that there are a lot of websites need IE to work. Chrome needs to provide an IE plug-in if it wants to be more popular here in the Middle east .
Especially that Here there is a famous forum . That thousands everyday log in to it .. It needs IE to post/comment !
