First Impressions of Google Chrome

by Chrome Blog on May 31, 2009

As most of you guys know, especially the Dev users that a couple of days ago Google updated the Dev Channel to version which was a big surprise. I deliberately did not posted about that in the blog because i wanted to share my experience with the new version so gave it a day or two.

google chrome 3

When i first tested it and saw the list of changes i really did not think that this deserves to be tagged version 3. There are not too many extraordinary changes in this. Some of the important changes are :

  • Multiple Crash Fix
  • Support for Video tags
  • Auto-Spell correct feature to fix common spelling typos
  • Certain User-Interface (UI) elements such as toolbar and dangerous download bar paint issues.
  • In version, the fonts have been made larger to fix the issue affecting non-english languages.
  • Minor improvements in Extensions Interface

The list of changes above does not really signify a great deal of changes to take it from version 2 to version 3. Perhaps, they would be making some extensive changes in the extensions interface in next couple of updates and thus they have tagged it at Version 3.

Anyhow, we at ChromePlugins are eagerly awaiting those changes.

Well, my version has a super small font for the Bookmark ribbon

Still no sane way to view IE, such as FireFox’s “Open in IE Tab,” the greatest add-in for FF (for my money)
