Google Chrome has hardware acceleration but is concealed

by logesh on October 5, 2010

Hardware acceleration is one of the most fashionable these days technology. Not only video players are beginning to provide this function, but Web browsers have free trials, too. The newest fan of hardware acceleration is Google Chrome 7.

Chrome is following FireFox and Internet Explorer 9 browsers which had already announced or demonstrated their intentions. For those who do not know, hardware acceleration moves various operations from the CPU to the video card. More processing power means a better performance of the browser and faster loading of pages.

Unlike FireFox and IE, Google Chrome has a different security model, called the sandbox. It does not allow Web sites to have direct access to the operating system. For this reason, implementation of hardware acceleration is more difficult for Google.

Hardware acceleration is available in Google Chrome dev version 7. It is available only to those who change command to launch the program.

To enable hardware acceleration in Google Chrome 7 dev should add the parameter “– enable-accelerated-compositing” (no quotes). Correct command should look like this:

C: \ Users \ username \ AppData \ Local \ Google \ Chrome \ Application \ chrome.exe – enable-accelerated-compositing.

Username is the username used.

Note that, at least for now, Google Chrome hardware acceleration only works on Windows.

You do not need the flag anymore. Can you fact check your posts before you post them? this is really amateur of you.

And I also believe that hardware acceleration is available for all of the platforms right now, not only for Windows. But I am not positive, so I am giving you the benefit of a doubt.

Seriously, why are you writing nonsense? do not post if you do not know how to write, you are just confusing people and it just seems stupid.
