During the recently concluded Google I/O conference, Acer and Samsung revealed Chromebooks equipped with the Chrome OS. These
Chromebooks were slated to hit markets on June 15. However, before these notebooks could hit markets, online Australian retailer Kogan has launched a notebook running on Chromium OS. Kogan’s notebooks can be availed from its online web store. In Australia and UK, the notebooks can be availed for $ 349.
Features Of Kogan’s Notebooks
The notebook launched by Kogan boasts of a 30GB SSD and sports an 11.6 inches LCD display capable of displaying pictures of resolution measuring 1366×768 pixels. The machine is equipped with a 1.30 GHz Intel Celeron M ULV processor and also has a 1.3 MP webcam.
Built-in Wireless and Bluetooth enhances connectivity of the device. It also has a 3-in-1 SD/MMC/MS Pro card slot. The battery life of the device is about 3.5 hours and the machine boots up in about 5 seconds. Meanwhile, Ruslan Kogan, founder of Kogan said that the company has realized that customers are utilizing the cloud service without realizing it. The device however, has no integrated 3G.
