No Chrome OS Prototype Devices Showcased By Google’s Partners At CES 2011

After the Chrome OS event held at San Francisco last year in December where Google gave insights into its upcoming OS, CES 2011 was Cr-48 Notebook Imageone event where everyone was had their eyes fixed, especially those who are eagerly waiting for the launch of Chrome OS powered netbooks. It was believed that Google partners will unveil some of the prototype devices during the event but to their disappointment, it was not to be.

Focus on Android Platform

It is to be noted that during the Chrome OS event, Google had unveiled Cr-48 notebook to test run Chrome OS. The notebook gives an insight into the working of Chrome OS and has generated huge excitement among users worldwide. Google has also joined hands with OEMs like Acer, Asus etc which will manufacture devices equipped with the OS.

It was expected that companies will showcase at least something about the Chrome OS devices that they are working upon but according to some, until and unless, the Cr-48 Pilot Program takes off full fledged companies might be reluctant in showcasing the devices. Meanwhile, Android OS made grabbed much attention at CES 2011 with release of Motorola Xoom and several tablets running on Android.
