A Simple Hotmail Notifier Extension Released

by Chrome Blog on August 13, 2009

Yesterday we got a Hotmail Notifier addon released on our forum. It works pretty much the same way as the Gmail Notifier Extension alongwith a few other feature additions. The extension shows you when you get a new message in your inbox.

Once the extension is installed, it displays a small icon in your browser toolstrip. Clicking on the extension icon will open a small diaglog page displaying your various folders in your Hotmail account. Clicking on the folder will open it on a new tab.

Hotmail Notifier Extension Features

  • Displays unread emails in your hotmail  inbox on the toolstrip
  • View the list of Folders in your Account by clicking on the extension icon

One thing has to be kept in mind that for the extension to work you need to first login to Hotmail as you usually do in Google Chrome.

How can I check Ymail and Gmail in Google Chrome? Ymail=Yahoo mail is the most important one for me. In Mozilla Firefox, that’s much easier: “https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4490″.

When trying to save this, I get the error message:

invalid value for ‘toolstrips[0]‘

Same here as Richard. Any solutions?
