With Google challenging dominance of market leaders in tech field, social networking is one area where it is yet to make a name for it.
With the emergence of Facebook, Google’s social networking site Orkut lost a great amount of market share. Google+, the latest social networking site by Google has already started to create much buzz in the market even though it remains inaccessible to most of the users.
However, one of the biggest challenges for this social networking site is to help users to bring their contact information, particularly from Facebook.
Chrome Extension To Import Contact
Google has come up with a Chrome Extension, called “Facebook Friend Exporter” which helps users to import all the Facebook contact into Google+. The extension has been created by Mohamed Mansour, who works as a software engineer at RIM. The extension extracts data of one of the friends of the users and then converts it into a huge data file into Google contact.
The conversion rate depends on the speed of your internet connection. It is to be noted that the extension does not fill in all of your friends into Google+, but makes them available on Google contacts after which you can move them on Google+.
