Working Of The Extension
Install Mailto: Chrome extension from Chrome Web Store
Once you install the extension, the Options window pops up as seen in the screenshot below. Users can select a webmail service, add their own URL or customize the extension in the manner where it will ask users each time what they want to do.
Once you have selected your choice, close the window
Now when users click on a email link, Chrome opens a new message composition tab
If users need to change their mailto: options then they need to open the options page and select the same from Extension page.
