It has been a while now since Google Chrome has been released with extensions, but one of the most requested featured add-on/extension was the IE Tab extension, i.e, opening websites in Internet Explorer while using Google Chrome browser.
This was one feature which was integrated into ChromePlus, a web browser based on the source code of Chromium (which is also behind Google Chrome). Having a “Chrome” browser with IE Tab functionality was one of the prime reasons for its popularity.
Now, IE Tab functionality is also available for Google Chrome which can be easily downloaded in form of an extension.
IE Tab Extension
It allows you to use Internet Explorer to display web-pages in your Google Chrome Tabs. There are certain websites which can be viewable only in Internet Explorer and not in other browsers, IE Tab extension solves this problem by opening those pages via Internet explorer in your Chrome Browser itself without the need to change your browser.
This extension works with the latest developer builds of Google Chrome. I am sure this extension is bound to shift a lot of users from other browsers to Google Chrome. If you need help on this extension please refer to the above link. Let us know your thoughts via comments.

This doesn’t work with http://www.pandora.com! That’s the whole reason why I wanted IE tab!!!
Sean, FYI Pandora has been working fine for me in Pandora without the use of this extension.
Whoever’s running this site, please don’t post BMP images. They’re huge. Please save them as PNG or JPEG or something, anything else!
This extension works great for me on Win XP SP3.
Enables access to sites using Chrome that require digital certificates – previously have only been able to access these sites using IE. (ie Australian Tax Office, Maersk Shipping etc)
Am now able to use Chrome 100% of the time
Is it possible to support ie4linux?
As far as “Chrome updates” and “support by Google” the browser is built on the Chromium engine, any developer is going to base their releases on the latest development package. That’s how Chromium was envisioned by Google in the first place, as a platform for the products you are seeing. I use the SRware “Iron” Browser based on Chrome; I find it to be a superior browser, and its development is moving at a faster pace than Chrome itself.
Isn’t that like running an abacus on my TI-83?
IE Tab Classic is better …
Much more professional interface and works on all the sites I tried,

Hello.
Does anyone now about the same thing but for firefox, like “Firefox tab”.
I would like to try Chrome but I’m using plugins on Firefox which I still need.
Thankx
I’m running Windows 7 with Chrome and the IE extension locks up every time. ??
I installed IE Classic and it works, sort of. I wanted it so the backspace key would take me back to an original page (I have to close the page to get back with Chrome) on a site but it doesn’t work unless I click on the back arrow. I uninstalled both of them.
Excelent plug-in. It solved a problem I had with enrich text. Thankk You
thank you I will try it
Has anyone heard of the GatherBack chrome extension (http://www.gatherback.com)? just tried out this screenshot extension for chrome and it looks pretty snazzy… would be happy to hear if anyone has had any good or bad experiences with them.
I’m getting a “missing plugin” message when trying to use on http://www.mlxchange.com
Using with Chromium Version 1.1.7 (8.0.552.215) with Splashtop
@Steve – Did you ever get the IE tab working with MLXchange?
