Lightweight Delicious Bookmarks & Twitter Chritter Extensions Released

by Chrome Blog on July 2, 2009

This week there were 2 important social bookmarking extensions released, delicious extension and a twitter extension. Though both are having very limited functionality.

Delicious Bookmarks Extension:

Amit Papnai from the Delicious Extensions Team released a light weight version of a delicious extension earlier. The functions of the extension at this point is no where close to its cousin in firefox, but that is understandable.

This alpha version allows you to sign in and post bookmarks to your delicious account. Once installed the extension adds a button (as seen in the screenshot) to your google chrome omni bar for signing in and bookmarking pages. Another interesting feature is the keyboard shortcut, once the page is fully loaded, you can bookmark it in delicious by simply pressing Ctrl + D.

I have uploaded the crx file on our site as well, so you can install by simply clicking on the download link below.

Chritter Extension: Twitter Notifier

Nick Baum, a developer at Chrome Extensions Group, developed this twitter notifier ealier. Again this is currently a primitive extension but worth taking a look.

It shows the recent tweets in the toolstrip and fetches new tweets every 5 minutes automatically. One nice feature about this is that it uses oauth to sign in so you dont need to give your twitter password. I have attached the crx file below so you can install it directly from here.

Please Note: Both these extensions would work only in the Developers Build of Chrome and not for Stable/Beta Users. If you are not on Dev Channel and still want to use this please refer here on how to change your channel.

I get this error installing delicious-001.crx:
Could not install extension from 'D:\Downloads\Web\Chrome\Extensions\deliciousbookmarks-001 (1).crx'. Required value 'page_actions[0].icons' is missing or invalid.

Twitter Chritter extension… Tried to click on the tool button and it took me to a twitter page that said:

Woah there!
This page is no longer valid. It looks like someone already used the token information you provided. Please return to the site that sent you to this page and try again … it was probably an honest mistake.

hey I can’t configure my chritter =(.
After I allow access from twitter, I can’t find the place to paste the PIN Number. Where do I put the PIN number??

I got the same error for the delicious extenions: icons not found. Running Nightly Chrome builds for Ubuntu Linux.

I install this extension successfully, but instead of icons with “sign” appears message “undefined”

Same error…boooo. Over two months later, what is this, amateur hour?

Same here “undefined”

None worked for me either. Main reason I am still a Firefox user, too many good plugins that can’t be found for Chrome

It keeps giving me undefined at the bottom how do I fix this?

I liked the idea :D twitter in chrome.

BUT WHY DOES IS SHOW “undifined”?

Please, how?
