Two Extensions For Google Services

by ducktape on February 4, 2010

Intro

Most of us who use Google Services, use more than one. Which means we use more than one extension to check our Gmail, Reader, or something else but you could also manage them under one Google Chrome Extension. And here I have two to show you.

Google Alerter

The first one, the simplier of the two is Google Alerter.  It works with Gmail, Reader, Wave and Voice. It just shows the number and nothing more.

The setting are also simple and straight forward. You disable the services you don’t use, and change the update interval (the amount of time the extension checks for your new messages).

Google Alerter Options

One Number

One Number is more featured and supports Google Apps, something that Google Alerter does not. The popup shows you a glimpse of your last message.

One Number PopupThe settings are also more advanced of those of Google Alerter, but can be confusing to some.

Conclusion

Both of these extensions are great. And I can recommend both. For those that want something simple, Google Alerter is the right choice. And for those who want the most out of a extension pick One Number.
