Some recent reports suggested that Google is not likely to repeat its Chromebook Pixel laptops, indicating that the device would not get a refresh with new Intel chips. Fortunately for Pixel fans, the reports have proved to be unconfirmed and possibility for revamped touchscreen Chromebooks still exists.
The fear of no revamped Chromebooks arose with a report from PC World, made during the announcement of new Chromebooks, that stated:
“While the new Chromebooks are expected to be flagship products for their respective brands, don’t expect a repeat of the Chromebook Pixel…”
In the light of later developments, however, Google has made clear that there was no official word that Pixel will not be repeated. While the firm has not confirmed a revamp, it has not ruled it out either. So it is still possible that Chromebooks could be revamped in the future, possibly with new chips that can boost both battery life and performance.
