Chrome crash and go boom when open chrome://extension/ after installing crx extension without restart browser

this is what I normal do after installing a crx extension;

after downloading and installing the crx extension, I close and reopen Chrome and then check whether the extension had been installed;

I have previously checked the extension without closing, but it does not show anything and it doesn't crash.

Which extension did you install when it happen?

Adswep. Both xp and win7 crash. The ugly think is, parent window also missing. so another window seem disappear although they are in memory (taskmanager). This is different from old chrome where only child window is missing, not interference with other child

I think future extensions need to be signed and the development of Adsweep has been discontinued

BUT, after chrome restart. there is no problem open chrome://extension and adswep work normally

I try with facebook notification, run Well
Try AddBloxk+, got crash again. ANd NOW in XP after install crx extension, both adswep and adblock not appear in chrome://extension
Perhaps you right, it's all about the adswep or adblock+, not chrome

I've got both AdSweep and AdBlock+ and don't have any problems ...

I had same problem until I deleted all preferences saved in windows ... I suspect it has something to do with old files/preferences not being correctly updated with updates of chrome.. But hard to say.. But now it seems that it doesnt crash any more when I install extensions ..

Yups, you right. i have deleted UserData and start with empty things. Now that extension work fine (installed sucessfully)

o_o it works fine with me. I don't need to restart for some odd reason. Hacks?
