Default High CPU on MSNBC site

    Using dev version: 4.0203.2
system: AMD Phenom x4 Quad 2.3ghz 8gig Ram hd3200 video

    visit: www.msnbc.com
On the CPU I'm using about 30-40% on the page. IE, and Firefox use none when not using the browser. CPU usage appears to be even across all 4 cores, so on a single-core system it must be really up...

I have the flashblock extension installed, but even blocking what few flash-ads there are on the page makes no difference, CPU is still way too high.

Closing the tab with MSNBC allows the CPU to drop again to near zero...

This site still continues to eat CPU. How do you disable javascript ?

I'm running Win7RC x64 build 7100 and changing the 'target' does not seem to like the quotes, they are removed as soon as I hit 'apply'. This is the line I'm trying to use:

    "J:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" -disable-javascript

But as I said, the quotes are removed when I hit 'apply'

I've also tried --disable-javascript and all my tabs open with 'Ah Snap' error page, no page works with that command line switch.

EDIT: you can add this page to MSNBC, page runs at 25% as shown by your own taskmanager. Something is wrong with javascript I suspect. I don't know how to break-down a page and look, but the speed of Chrome, while it claims to be faster than all other, has some serious CPU use issues.

    oops forgot to add link:

scroll down the page to comments - cpu seems to jump up and stay there - at times.
