    Default Slow Apps

I read up on chrome before just downloading it and one of the major goals was to speed up browsing and app use.
Just to check out the improvements, I went to youtube to test videos. Those that i watched were jumpy, stopping, and pixelating much worse than simple internet explorer.

Doesn't seem like Chrome's got that many improvements.

    Thumbs down

I just went to play some games on addicting games cause it was the first site that popped into my head... more skipping/pausing. I lost an effing life cause it froze and by the time it caught up, my character ran off the edge

When I went to right click the top bar to open the task manager (while the game was frozen) and nothing happened for 30 seconds. by the time the task manager was open, the page had closed and I lost a life.

If your game is in flash it will bearly work and shockwawe doesent seem to work at all. To solve this you have to manually copy the *.dll files from the corresponding plugin into chrome plugin directory(use search). Flash goes flawlessly after this..and shockwawe works sloppy(like running Crysis on Pentium 2).

Yes you can try that, another thing that "may" be causing temporary freezes and slowdowns is Chrome's Malware list update.

People (especially on slower PC's) have noted video's, games, media player etc can misbehave when Chrome is updating because of the intensive disk and internet activity.

See the post: Heavy Chrome Disk Activity

So you could try temporarily disabling this while running intensive apps.

When you download that plugin the file is called whatever.xpi. You rename the file in whatever.zip then you extract it and you got your *.dll files that need to be copied. Using the installer provided doesn't solve the problem

I had the same problem, at it is not because of Chrome, like someone suggested but because of flash.

    Cheers.
I agree with you switch.au I had the same problem in the beginning.
reinstalling flash drivers most likely fix the issue. Im not too sure if it hdd usage or internet bandwidth could cause this.

surely you shouldn't have to bother with all this dll crap, I'm not, and until Chrome fix this I'm not sure they'll get half the users
