    Hi Waha,

i dont think that userscripts and bookmarks etc those things would be much in use or sort after when the extensions are released full-fledged. For that matter, we do not have a separate section for bookmarks and userscripts here either.

The extensions repository is only for extensions for chrome and nothing else. There is no point in confusing the "general users" of chrome i guess?

THanks for all you guys feedback.

Ahh one thing, the backend for repository to add an extension is done, if you guys want to see please let me know by posting here and i will PM you with the demo.

I am with you about "not confusing" the general users...
The upload page looks great and is very complete, well done.
Small detail, nitpicking really: I imagine you can change the text:
"Add New Post" in "Add New Extension" as the main header?

Ahh yeah that would be done, i jst kept it there so that we can point out the difference. Just waiting for you guys to give the go ahead on the backend and then would start with implementation of all other "design" aspects and the updating of an extension backend which would also be discussed here.

I hope the Add New Extension backend is good? Any additions or modifications there?

    Question:
The upload screenshot possibility is great.
Wouldn't it be nice to have this one mandatory?
1 picture is worth 1000 words...

    Just a thought...

Absolutely!! This is something which i also put on our forum in the various posting guidelines as you see.. But somehow, i dont know why most of the extension developers baring 1-2 dont want to follow those rules..?? And none of those guys actually upload any screenshot!! But yes for the repository i can make it compulsory as you want..

Perhaps not bookmarklets (though they're very nice for simple, light-weight implementations), but user-scripts will always have a place considering they're a feature of Chrome. Same with themes.

Nope, but we still tag the topics (or posts at least) with which one it is.

Well yeah you are right in some ways, but i still strongly feel that "Normal Chrome Users" would have lot of issues if we dump all usercripts/bookmarklets alongwith the extensions/themes in the extensions repository..

We have the forum for those stuff.. So surely people would like it there..

Do you guys think a new section for bookmarklets and userscript is needed on our forum? Not the repository but here at chromeplugins forum?

Nope. Perhaps in the posting rules you could make it clear that "[New ext]" should be ext, bm, or us as appropriate, though. (For EXTension, BookMarklet, and User Script, respectively.)
