Default I miss the Google toolbar

I miss the Google toolbar that I had installed in Firefox. Especially to search in Google Groups.

Well Google should have had their own toolbar in their own browser, this is just strange, or I am seriously ignorant about it!!

Cool Re: I miss the Google toolbar

You really do not need the Google Toolbar on Chrome... just type your keyword in the address bar itself and hit Enter key... it will automatically display search results through Google.

Like Firefox, when you type any text in the address bar of Google Chrome, it has the ability to distinguish between what is a web site address and what is a search keyword. Try it!

Thanks, I know. But you have not read my short message all the way to the end. I wrote that I miss Google toolbar because it allowed me to search in Groups (to find a solution to technical problems).

Sure you can, make a new bookmark and call it whatever you want and for the URL put this:

HTML Code:
javascript:q%20=%20""%20+%20(window.getSelection%20?%20window.getSelection()%20:%20document.getSelection%20?%20document.getSelection()%20:%20document.selection.createRange().text);%20if%20(!q)%20q%20=%20prompt("Search%20words",%20"");%20if%20(q!=null)%20location="http://groups.google.com/groups/search?q="%20+%20escape(q).replace(/%20/g,%20"+");%20void%200
To use it, select some text on the page then just click the bookmark and it will search Google Groups for that text. Or just click it without highlighting text and you can type whatever you want.

No problems glad it does what you want, there's a workaround for most things. I have done similar Bookmarklets for nearly all the Google Toolbar functions as well as SEOQuake (A popular FireFox Addon) in this thread:

Google Toolbar for Chrome.

Also if you weren't aware, you can drag your Bookmarks below the omnibar to make it just like the Toolbar and save an extra click by needing to click "Bookmarks" first. You can see i have added the Google Groups search on the end.

Thanks for the link. Very useful. I really must free some time to learn Javascript.

Yes, I was aware, but thanks anyway.

As you seem to know so much, could you please tell me if there is a workaround for re-creating Firefox' very useful autocomplete function in Chrome?
