    Here's my 2 cents

    1 Thread per release
    - Thread title should clearly identify the name and the version
    - Similar titles for new releases of the same extension

    Clear list of features
    - Clear list of new features for new releases
    - Clear list of bug fixes

    Chrome version supported

    Link to homepage
    Link to download page

    --

It doesn't have to be exactly that.. simply some general guidelines.

Everything Kyrax said + a screenshot of the theme/extension and maybe put a [UserScript], [Extension], [Bookmarklet], [Application], or [Theme] tag in front of the the thread titles so we know what kind of releases they are..

Did we abandon the idea of having something special for these? Did I miss something?

kind of a "repository" for extensions (.crx files) where programmers can upload, explain and version track their work.

I am not suggesting a simple section as we have now but something more in the like of what Mozilla has done with https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/

A simple forum section will not survive the quantity of extensions available in the near future, we need a "special repository" asap.

I am not a programmer, nor can I help build but that is just what I think is really needed.

I think Waha offered her help to Chrome and Sweetfunny to have a look/go at this? but I have been known to be wrong...

I did, he got the link for the source I posted, but I haven't heard anything since.

I'd be happy to expand it or whatever, just need to know what he wants.

We could work on something based off Django and host it on google app engine..

    Just a thought.

Thanks waha!! actually i pulled up a guy to implement some those things similar to the firefox addons site, we wont be integrating it on chromeplugins.org but on another domain and would inter-link them, this would be much better IMO, its under process so will let you know when its nearing completion...

Regarding the posting rules, we can have things such as:

Title Could be : [Extension] Name of Extension - 2-3 Word Description

The Body: This could be like:

    Extension Name:
    Developer/Author:
    Latest Version With Download link:
    Description of The Extension:
    Features:

Older Versions : This could be the link to the repository which we are going to have.

Issues Fixed In New Version: Just stating the issues fixed would be good..

Browser Compatibility : Which versions of chrome are compatible with the extension.

The first post could be editable by the thread starter, so that whenever there are new release of version or any issue fixed, the thread starter can simple change the latest download link, and update the thread with issues fixed and all..

The guys who want to advise something for the extension can simply post itit in reply of the thread, for troubleshooting they can also post there or post in the Plugins troubleshooting section. (plugin troubleshooting section could be a spamming section as well) where members can post their individual troubleshooting no matter what plugin.extention it is..

    Let me know your thoughts.

Perhaps the title should say if it's a thread for a release if so, too?

By the way, Chrome, if you need any adjustments on the uploader script, I'm open to PMs.

Is there any chance of having an RSS feed with the latest posts on ChromePlugins.org?
For the moment I use "New Posts" option but it would be cooler, I think, to have RSS feeds about it.
