I think most of my posts are in this thread, so it's as good a place as any to say au revoir.
Having been sick of spamming idiots for a long time, I've decided just not to bother much with the Internet at all any more. There are so many better things to do in life than trawl through rubbish and spam posts and/or emails.
I hope this thread is useful to any new members or readers looking for ways to block the junk, but I won't be contributing any more to it in future. Ad blocking is quite simple really, as anyone who's followed the thread and tried what I suggested has found.
Sadly, spammers and lack of tight control here ruin it for me, and I won't waste my time subscribing to threads which are updated by moronic posts from spammers. Have fun guys and girls, and thanks to all who've helped me with Chrome related problems - I very much appreciate it.

It does the same thing your's did in your testing. It lets me click upload but it doesn't finish uploading the image. Oh well, I really appreciate your help, I'll just have to bypass Proxo when I want to upload images.
Sad to see you go Michael, you have been so much help to me with your tutorials. I thank you for that.
Nah thats not good enough, lets get it fixedIt does the same thing your's did in your testing. It lets me click upload but it doesn't finish uploading the image. Oh well, I really appreciate your help, I'll just have to bypass Proxo when I want to upload images.
Could you attach your default.cfg...Ill take it that your block lists are the same, but I keep messing with my filters alot so if I could have yours it would help
Cool board and I like the look of this. Is following the later posts the way to go? Any major problems or anything with Proxomitron? (I tried something else but it sucked).
@Goden
Proxomitron is the way to go ...
Follow the later posts, especially those of Michael3185 (The Master) ....
Ha, it works! Very nice. Slippy little adverts gone, and I didn't have to kill anyone. Result.
wow nice information. Thanks for sharing.This tips help for me. but i thinkI think the site should just ignore those who block ads. We have a choice to install such plugins into our browsers. We all hate ads and know that they can lead to bad things (sometimes).
I personally love viewing this site in Firefox & Chrome w/ Adblock Pro. I have a right to have that plugin installed and this site can do nothing about it. Even if the code got smarter there are still ways around ads.
And as previously mentioned, putting up blockers to our plugins would make us not visit this site anymore.
