When you download a CRX file for a Chrome extension it creates a folder that contains 2 things ...
One is a folder (eg New extension) containing the JSON and JS files for the extension, the other is a file called 'Current Version' which simply contains the name of the folder (eg New Extension) containing the above files.
The questions I have are ...
What is used to create the 'Current Version' file as its file type is simply File
What is used to create the CRX file from the folder and file (described above)
I know that if you enable extensions on your Chrome shortcut it will get it's information from this folder so you can actually have multiple extensions installed.
