Default Chrome Mouse Gestures?

Hi Guys,

Do you have any idea if there is a mouse gestures plug-in coming soon?

I really like Chrome and the only reason I am still using FireFox 3 instead of Chrome Beta is the All-in-One Gestures extension.

Please let me know if there are any ideas if this is being/will be developed.

Mouse gestures is definitely THE feature I really need
External applications (like StrokeIt) can solve this problem partially, but there are things they can't do: opening a specific link in new tab for example...

Yeah, Same. I would probably use Chrome instead of any other browser once it has mouse gestures.

I can't wait for this feature.

I might be wrong but if you just click on this specific link, then what happens?

If you don't understand what he means, then you're probably not using gestures in FF or Opera.

The whole point of gestures is having quicker interaction for common tasks. Right click slide down for a new tab is much quicker than moving both hands.

Wow, what you guys really need is an USB cable to your brain
That would be quicker!
I just fail to understand how quicker, really, than just middle clicking (center mouse button) on a link,
mouse gestures can be.

May be a bad example, but you're not the only one who feels this way.

As mentioned earlier, if you have never used gestures then you really won't understand their power. After a while, you find yourself trying to use them in -all- of your applications (or at least wishing they were there). I can't count the number of times I've swept the mouse from right to left in Windows Explorer trying to get back to my previous folder.

They simply kick arse.

There is a nice bit of code out there (http://www.codeproject.com/KB/system/gestureapp.aspx) that wouldn't be extremely tough to roll into a Chrome build, but there would be some work involved to bring the algorithm up to Opera quality. If things ever slow down at work, I may give it a go.

Regards ~ jp

Just use the middle mouse button. There are plenty of functions where gestures should be used or are preferable, but opening a link in a new tab isn't one of them.
