    Here's version 0.2 which is ever so slightly less ugly and now has the option to make it white text on a black background coz some people seem to like that.
    Attachment 323 (13.8KB)
    Now if I could just find a switch icon to replace the blob and think of a name I might actually release it .
    @PAEz

    please consider starting a new thread on your extension in the Plugins section;

    Sulasno, thanks a bunch for the code - it really works quite well!

    PAEz, thanks for moving this into an extension, however the effect does not apply till I refresh the page - is that the intended effect?

    yeah
    When ya click it its on and will be applied to all subsequent pages you visit/refresh.
    I thought you might like the effect to be persistent and not have to keep clicking the bookmarklet.
    If you like I could probally get the effect to take place straight away when you click it on, but to remove the effect I would have to refresh the page (i dont know how to save the values).
    Actually, now you mention it that would be better and Ill take a look at doing that tommorow (was about to watch Curb). Do you think I should make the page resfresh when you turn it off?...to turn on the page doesnt need to resfresh, so I think thats cool

    But then theres also the thing that its not per tab, if it was I would be much more inclined to do it this way. I might have a look at that later aswell but think that might be more work for me.....but prolly worth it

    Hmm, interesting ideas PAEz... The Firefox extension I got the idea from is a global reset, so ALL pages end up with the black/white look, but it saves the original style somehow.

    The ides of a page refresh would probably work nicely if it could be limited to the current page - unless someone was trying to watch a movie or something?! That would mess up the streaming.

    I'm not much of a javscript guy, but I was thinking of tinkering with the bookmarklet to see if I could get it so "save" the old page styles. If not, the idea of having to refresh the page for the styles to reappear is a perfectly workable solution.

    Was the extension No Colour?....
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/5758
    ...I went and had a look at it and its got it easy, its just changeing a FF option (or two).
    Goto about:config (in FF) and its....
    browser.display.use_document_colors
    ...bumma

    Thing is Im still new to all this myself and so dont really know what all my options are yet.....but ill have a look tomorow
