How about a plugin so that Chrome supports the Gopher protocol as well? When I try to go to gopher://gopher.meulie.net/ I get sent to Google search instead...

I would appreciate an extension to the very style of Gmail Manager Firefox. It allows multiple email accounts. It's the extension I miss the most from Firefox

I always liked Bazzacuda in Firefox. It allows you to save the largest picture in page by using a hot key. I can't seem to find an equivalent plug-in in the Chrome extensions site though.

I seriously miss my status bar that is on FireFox. It has my Gmail notifier, weather and the status of the page loading. Whilst I appreciate many may not like the status bar for whatever reason, a turn on/off option would be appreciated, otherwise I tend to go back to FireFox for my email.

Theres some awesome gmail notifier extensions, saw a weather extension the other day....but they are all browser actions, the buttons next to the url bar....is there really anything wrong with them?
Dont think chrome will ever have a status bar (in the ff way).

Is there an extension that allows you to open up a new window and browse as though it were the first time you'd ever used Chrome e.g. no cache, no saved passwords, no nothing. Obviously there is the incognito mode, where no additional info gets stored whilst browsing, but this still makes use of previously stored passwords, browser cache etc. I don't want to have to delete all of my private data just for the sake of viewing one web page completely 'fresh'.

Also, if there is an extension like this for any other browser e.g. firefox, then that would be great too.

Cheers,

Chris

ChrisAllan:
You could open Chrome with another Profile that has nothing in it....and you can keep it setting free if you leave -first-run in the command line.
Heres two links that will help you understand what Im going on about......

This is dependent on whether you have a program that can handle that protocol or not.

As nice as that would be to allow for use of the toolstrip again. The impact it would have on extension development would be too complex for the tastes of Google designers.

Evert:
Ive never used Gopher and have no knowledge of it but thought I might have your answer from stuff I was looking at last night.
There's two parts to this, need to make sure the protocol is registered with the OS and then make sure chrome allows it.

For adding a protocol to your OS check here.....
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Register_protocol

And for the Chrome side of things look here....
http://www.google.com/support/forum/...2d974418&hl=en

As chrome seems to have no gopher feature I downloaded a gopher client from here....
http://sites.google.com/site/matjaz85/gopherclient

Before I changed the Open Command (using RegEdit) for the gopher protocol it was this.....
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -nohome
....(which didnt even work by the way, IE didnt seem to be able to handle gopher either) I changed it to this.....
"C:\Program Files\Gopher\gopher.exe" %1
...It points to the gopher client I installed earlier and seems to work fine.

Sorry for the brief description, hope it helps.
