Don't worry about the crashes at least between me and Devils we know what causes it and if anyone else has the problem we know what to do ...

Don't hover on the toolbar !!

As for the name, don't suppose that really matters as the first thing I do is rename the folder that everything is installed in to something sensible.

That way I know which folder relates to which Extension :-D

Thanks for the update. The 0.3 version works fine. As did 02. until a few days ago. Is there a reason why it stopped working when it was working?

Maybe it is my imagination but I seem to be getting fewer crashes since I am making it a point not to go near the toolbar. Perhaps I had the cursor sitting on it from time to time.

I find that I move my cursor down to that toolstrip sometimes while reading websites (to get the cursor out of the way). That's what was causing it for me. I have had ZERO crashes since avoiding that "+" button for any length of time.

I'm really puzzled by this.. I have no idea why the tooltip causes Chrome to crash..

I do not seem to have any control over that tooltip.. I can't disable it, can't modify what text it shows..

What's really weird is that it doesn't crash when you hover over other extensions.. only CustomNewTab. No idea what's so different about it.

Maybe it's because that the tooltip is longer than the actual button ? (larger width) ..
I'll have to test that.

It's worth noting I can duplicate the problem with any extension that uses the toolstrip, even with your not loaded.

If this is the case, please fill a bug report on Chromium's website.

Yeah, I don't use any other extensions so I had to install them to test my theory and sure enough they broke as well.

In any case I reported it.

I am a happy camper. No crashes as long as I keep my mouse away from the toolbar, where it probably was frequently resting if I tried to pull down a long web page.

One exception - I had a crash while running the new Microsoft Bing. That comes as no surprise to this person who enjoys in conspiracy theory. ))
