Just installed v0.4 in Chrome 3.0.193.0 and it's not working. A new tab just shows with the bookmarks bar only, regardless of any dashboard settings. I tried setting it to load a new page (default google.com) and when you open a new tab you see a brief flash of the googele page before it reverts to the bookmark bar only blank new tab...

There's a Chrome issue with CNT in the latest release ...

If you use CNT for a different NewTab page (like most people) then try this Mouse Gesture extension, it allows you to customise the NewTab page ...

I had a discussion on the Chrome mailing list and since the Chrome dev team sees modifying chrome://XXXX pages as a bug that will be 'fixed' eventually, I will not be maintaining CustomNewTab anymore.

That's such a shame, it was a really great extension and solved a lot of peoples problems ...

Fortunately we've got Chrome Gestures now for the NewTab page at least ;-)

I really hope they revoke that notion.

They're thinking about giving us some API to add/modify things in the new new tab pages, but Kyrax is right, chrome:// pages won't be accessible in the future!

Hello this is my first post and my first attempt at getting a Chrome extension to work.

I am running Chrome v2.0.172.37. I have installed CutsomNewTab v0.2. I gave edtied the XML using the desktop to start a new tab on my google home page. When I click the new tab button all I get is a completely new blank tab. It does not load the page I specified. Here is my XML:

If there is an easier way of making chrome start a new tab on you homepage I would love to know about it.

CutomNewTab doesn't work for the the new new tab page, and Kyrax has said he will not be maintaining the extension anymore because the Chrome team is removing the ability for extensions to run on that page.
