Already ?
Yes.
Why ?
Because I said so !
Get it from http://code.google.com/p/customnewtab/
Only one feature, but I thought it was a major modification to the original behavior that deserved it's own update.
CustomNewTab does not use a Toolstrip anymore. You will no longer have to deal with a blue bar at the bottom of your screen if you are using CustomNewTab. The extension now runs in a (rencently available) background page process.
How can you reach the dashboard ?
Bookmark this page : chrome-extension://bpadoikgkkpmocgnhmkipbchigggjnje/dashboard.html
and voilĂ* !
Why did I do that ?
I felt like Toolstrips were an obstrusive and non intuitive way to access the configuration. Bookmarks feel like a much more natural way to reach a web page. Also, you can place bookmarks wherever you need. Plus, since you probably only have to configure it once in a while, you might not even need to bookmark it at all !
Enjoy !
As usual, comments are more than welcome.
