    Sorry for not checking back.

I can confirm this issue as well. However, if you refresh the compose email page, or click on the "Compose Mail" link a second time, everything works perfectly. The same CSS file works flawlessly when I load it in Opera and Safari, which leads me to believe that it's an issue of how Chrome loads the script, than the script itself, but I'm not really sure.

Could not install extension from 'C:\Documents and Settings\user\Desktop\Fanboy-4s Element Hider.crx'. Bad magic number
Which browser are you using, and what version or developer build is it?

Does anyone know more about the "Gecko's content policies" mentioned in the link? I was under the impression that @run-at document-start blocks ads before loading them, but see now the ads still load before being "hidden".

If you want to lock them before loading them, you'll have to use something like Privoxy to stop the request packets from actually sending.
But I don't see the harm in it, at least this way you're giving the site page impressions.

Thanks, I know about privoxy. But I don't want to use a proxy.

I'm actually more interested in how the adblock in firefox works, blocking the ads from loading, not just hiding them. My understanding of greasemonkey scripts was that they inject/rewrite content dynamically (as it loads). So to clarify what are these "content policies" used in firefox, and how can they block ads?

As for my reasons for completely blocking ads, I'm capped. So the less I download the better.

Here's from the Adblock Plus FAQ, which sums things up nicely: http://adblockplus.org/en/faq_internal#policies

    Afair, it was fixed.

Yes, for images. But Flash-ads will really blocked.
