Unfortunately the tab-switching thing is a Chrome bug, so it's not something I can fix in the extension (The bug is at http://code.google.com/p/chromium/is...etail?id=11901 - add a star to it if you want it fixed sooner )

And yes, it's a one-way sync only, but you can use the toolstrip-star to add new Google bookmarks, which will get pulled back down to the browser. Maybe synchronize is the wrong word to use, so I'm sorry if anyone lost their existing bookmarks, but very first line on the install page is:

This Google Bookmarks extension for Google Chrome replaces your existing Chrome bookmarks with your Google Bookmarks in order to share them across browsers

I starred it also after seeing the same behavior.

If you're using this extension you may have noticed massive browser crashing in the latest version of Chrome. Unfortunately I have not been able to work around the problem, but I believe it will be fixed by the next Dev update.
