Looks Great! If you don't want this fix though, try ChromePlus (www.chromeplus.org). Built in IE Tab in the omnibox with support for adding websites to always use IETabs, "New IE Tab" option (CTRL+I), Built in (not editable) Mouse Gestures. You can also open links as new tabs in the foreground or background by dragging them, and close tabs with a double click. Check it out! It's great! Unfortunately, it hasn't been updated as of yet to support Bookmark Sync :-( or the Win7 taskbar context menu. But extensions/userscripts can be enabled! (But with the flags [--enable-extensions --enable-user-scripts, etc.])

    Thanks Kyrax for the great instructions. Everything worked smoothly. However, this still doesn't work with windows update ... Is that supposed to work? What other IE specific sites is this made for?

    I have a suspicion that the "Permission Denied" errors are caused by a security cookie no longer being present within the IE tab. I have maged to get things woprking by clicking through all the errors and then logging on again - but this is obviously far from ideal.

    Is this a bug? (Surely any cookies should be passed from the host, Chrome)

    I got this working off an old opera script I had lying around (sorry cannot remember author) - add this as a userscript called "ietab.user.js" into your userscript directory. Edit the website list manually for the ones you want to be auto opened (I use this for my works Microsoft CRM) and then there's no interaction required other than clicking on your bookmark to open the page. Hope this helps someone Obviously first also have to have neptune plugin in chrome as per previous posts and registered.

    Code:
    // ==UserScript==
    // @include http://update.microsoft.com/*
    // @include http://www.windowsupdate.com/*
    // @include http://www.yousendit.com/*
    // @include http://www.*.map24.com/*
    // ==/UserScript==

    (function(){
        document.open();
        document.write('

' + (document.title?document.title:location.href).replace(/</,'<') + ' - dmv IE

<div style=\'position:absolute;top:0;left:0;right:0;bottom:0;\'><embed id=\'neptuneEmbed\' type=\'application/x-meadco-neptune-ax\' width=\'100'+String.fromCharCode(37)+'\' height=\'100'+String.fromCharCode(37)+'\' param-location=\'' + window.location.href + '\'>

');
        document.close();
    })();

    Hi,

    We have just released an ie tab extension for Chrome. We're super excited about it, and look forward to getting your feedback. You can find it here: http://www.blackfishsoftware.com/chrome-ie-tab

    Cheers!
