Hi (again) folks. I've been keeping away from things which become time-sinks lately (and am so much happier for it) but have decided to spend a little time on Josorek's excellent Speed Dial extension.

It hasn't been updated since December 2009, and there are lots of frustrated users, as it's a superb extension but buggy. So far I've reduced the file size from around 195k to 95k, fixed a wrongly spelled variable name, and am currently looking at fixing the slightly odd thumbnail size ratio.

As I say, I'm not getting into time-sinks, and I won't be adding new features to this. I just want it to work better, and would be grateful for any help you may be able to offer. (If it's not ok with the author then just say so and I'll remove it from public view).

Just as an afterthought;

Some people on the Google extensions site have been complaining that it looses settings on re-installing, and that the bookmarks page doesn't scroll. I don't have the update problem; uninstalling, changing version numbers, and reinstalling brings back my previous dials. (I've included my .pem file for re-building, but you can create your own in Chrome).

As far the bookmarks page goes, it doesn't scroll because the icon in the bookmarks bar opens a custom page rather than the Chrome bookmarks menu. The bookmarks bar is custom-drawn. If anyone knows how to get Chrome to draw the standard bookmarks bar on a custom tab page I'd be grateful for a nod in the right direction.

Ok, there's a new site for this modded stuff at http://gochrome.letsdoo.org. I won't be posting any new stuff here, as it's veeeeryyyyy slooooowwwww...

What would be really amazing is to be able to either save the settings in the cloud (ie. google docs), or email the settings so you can have the same configuration on multiple machines. If I could specify where the settings file was actually located, I could save it in my dropbox account and then the settings could be synced across machines.

I cannot find latest version than 2.0. where is the current link can I find it?

Is there way to make Fast Dial page as opening page?

Hello,
i've some trouble adding the "chrome tools" to speeddial.
the adress "chrome://bookmarks/" totaly does not work on dial. adding the opened bookmark manager over the addressbar icon normaly works just temporary.
the extensions, history & downloads cant be opened in the current tab. they just openable by "rightclick -> open in new tab". could be really usefull to make it work, i think.

also something to create groups is missing. tabs like on firefox, colour-marks for each dial, a drawable seperator or something like that ...
