New version of this great extension!
Changelog in https://lastpass.com/upgrade.php
I went to download the new upgraded extension and it threw this error:
"Required value 'name' is missing or invalid"
The file saves to my hard drive, but when opened, the above error prompt displays. I submitted the problem to Lastpass support and they are trying to resolve it. Apparently, others have reported the same problem.
update Chrome for Windows
go to the extension folder and remove lastpass folder
download or install the extension from lastpass's site
hth
I downloaded the latest Chrome and removed the Last Pass folder from Extensions and the problem still persists.
What is the version of Chrome that you are running?
try dragging the crx to a Chrome window after downloading
I am running 4.0.223.11 (I need to update my signature).
I did a couple of things here, not sure which one led to getting this to work:
I renamed my user data folder to backup, and started fresh with Chrome, then dragged the newly installed last pass extension to my backup set, renamed the backup folder to restore it. Only upon rebooting chrome, it didn't show last pass as an extension or even in the extension panel list (it was listed in the extension folders, though).
Then I read your post to drag it from explorer to the chrome window, and "viola!" it worked. Now I wish I had read your reply first, so I could verify it was your suggestion that got it working. Anyone having the same problem should be encouraged to try your method of dragging the crx file into chrome before starting fresh like I did.
Ooops! Forgot to say thank you!
Thank you, Sulasno!
