when I try to install a new extension i receive often the message: The requested URL was not found on this server

for example: "The requested URL /crx/download/OgAAAAcIrhwxCn6BYquu1SwIUK_-mohVJe0c268CMy1MgS6e2JITe9f3H4J-SXN7lvwDr0jMJosqMXAy4OKNn7kp_XYAxlKa5Sqmq5YQeSbEP4W_HOH3WDUsWGZZ/extension_1_4_1.crx was not found on this server." when I try to download Auto-Translate (https://chrome.google.com/extensions...omnjlckbbfapmk)

This happen not on all extension, some works fine.

I've try to disable antivirus and firewall but the story won't change, so:this is a server issue, not mine.

If I want to use chrome as default browser, extensions must work.
So until they solve the server issue, I will continue to use Firefox.

I assume you are getting the error "Many extension NOT FOUND ON THIS SERVER" when trying to download extensions from this website, since you are posting here? And I assume when you say "until they solve the server issue" you are incorrectly thinking this is a Google problem?

I personally never judge a browser by its extensions. If a browser is good enough by itself, I don't need extensions to set it as my default browser; and Chrome became my default browser within 1 day of testing it after it was initially released, before there was even one extension or bookmarklet.

Chrome and its extensions have no problems and they do work, so you can set your mind at ease about that. There may be downloading problems from this website, but that has nothing to do with Chrome browser nor Google.

You may wish to also look for extensions from: http://www.chromeextensions.org/ or https://chrome.google.com/extensions/

Sorry I cant be of more help but I just thought Id point out that I was able to download that autotranslate so if the problem persists for you Id contact google about it (although how youd do that is beyond me, maybe one of the google groups).

chrome is a great browser, much faster than firefox, but I've many extension which I never want to leave, because they simplify my netsurfing experience... I have not abandoned chrome, I'm just waiting for the server not "spitting in my face"

I retry to install extensions from chromeextensions.org 'n they work, maybe tonight I will retry to do this on the other site.
