Hello.

I would like to ask if anyone knows of an extension that notifies multiple webmail accounts in chrome? I would really like to use Chrome but unfortunately this is a feature I have grown used to with Firefox that I can not do without.

Example is, Torrent Search Bar, (only showing this bar for its webmail ability) I use this because it has the ability to check multiple webmail accounts & log directly into them with just one click.

Doing a search also shows a direct addon for FF that supposedly does the same thing that I will try as well.

If anyone knows of a similar extension for Chrome that would be most helpful as searching the extensions doesn't seem to produce one that actually checks & notifies multiple accounts.

Anyone? Even a gmail checker that can check multiple gmail accounts would be useful.

I dont know of one and the reason you may not find one is because of how they work. When you log into gmail a cookie is set and contains stuff like who you are and that your logged in. To get into another account youd have to log out and log in again which would be a hassle for an extension.
Gmail Checker Plus can do a gmail account and multiple google domain accounts because each google domain account is a different url and thus a different cookie.

I can think of one thing that might work for you with gmail accounts (wouldnt know others, I just use gmail), havent tried it but it should work.
Setup another gmail account and then get all your other gmail accounts to forward a copy to that address. Then log into that account and then when ever one of the other accounts gets an email it will send a copy to that account and something like Gmail Checker Plus will tell you (aslong as your logged into the account that the others foward to). Youll need to login into the other accounts to answer from that account, but it might work for you.

You can find the Forwarding settings under Settings.
Enter the email to forward to, click send verification. Goto the other account and click the link to verify in the sent email. Go back to the other account and go to setting / forwarding and select forward a copy to.......
Repeat for all accounts you want to watch.

I've been using it for years where 1 notifier can keep track of multiple Gmail accounts. I have separate accounts because I use them in/for different situations. I do not want them all mixed together by forwarding or copies. The 2 addons I listed before work well in FireFox & here is a link to another one that works, Gmail Checker. So it can be done at least on FireFox as well as IE (the torrent bar with the mail checker works well in IE).

Apparently none are available for Chrome yet but I hope someone makes one as I would like to use Chrome more & I've seen people requesting the same thing I am looking for on some of the Chrome mail notifier extensions.

Like I said its not that it cant be done it would just be a major pain...or actually maybe it cant with the way it is now.
But, theres an experimental api for chrome extensions now that is for cookies, so in the future when this comes out of experimental it should allow for something like this ALOT easier....so unfortunately you may have to wait a bit but Im sure it will come.
