You can configure them from within the App, but thats no good if you're runnig it from this extension ...

With extension you can clear a "browsing data" in one click, that you configured in Chrome.

Configure "Clear browsing data..."

In the latest Dev versions of Chrome this option has now been removed from the tools menu and is on the Personal Tab (shortcut still works though) ...

I think what should be remembered for future reference is if you are going to include a 3rd Party App as part of your extension you should make sure that people are aware of the implications of running it ....

I'm not quite sure what the advantages are of having to install an extension to perform a task that is already part of the browser, especially as you have to go to the configuration screen at some point anyway ...

Yes there is, hence why they have the install warning as well.
The risk goes for anything you execute on your system.

Well I don't really normally care about the warning as I always extrackt and check the source code before installing the extension, this is not a possibility when its an executable file.. I'v never seen this behaviur in Firefox...
