Default [New Ext] everymark - Everything-like search on bookmarks

Message : v1.8 use backslash (\) to filter using folder names

    everything-like search on your bookmarks.

when clicking the icon, a nice popup will appear, populated with a list of all your bookmarks and their links, whenever you start typing search terms the list will shrink to contain only the relevant bookmarks.

this extension allows to instantly bookmark every page which interests you (no need to find which folder suites best, just bookmark it), while retrieving the page afterwards becomes a breeze - just search the keywords, and open it.

    * use backslash (\) to filter using folder names
    * use arrow keys or mouse to navigate
    * use right click to open menu which allows to delete bookmarks

    Extension : everymark

    Developer : ofer affias

    Latest Version : V1.8

    Download Latest Version : https://chrome.google.com/extensions...kmpdlnpjokhcpb

Description : Everything-like search on your bookmarks (see this blog post)

Browser Compatibility : tested on chrome 4.0.249.11

    Screenshots :

enjoy, i will be glad to hear your feedback

    Nice extension, thanks for sharing

You said it is easier to write an extension for Chrome than Firefox, can you elaborate a bit?

on firefox, just to start writing i needed the aid of an extension wizard. it creates many files and folders which is hard to grasp. moreover, the amount of files and dialects you need to edit is much bigger.

    quick compare:
chorme: create manifest.json and point to your html file which can contain html/css and javascript - done.
firefox: create 4 folders which contain more folders inside, plus chrome.manifest and install.rdf all with unreadable syntax and error prone... not a nice experience at all.

anyway, i am not an expert, but from my personal experience, the entry level to write a simple addon in firefox seems much higher comparing to chrome.

Related to the development of extensions in Chrome:

I never did create any extension before Chrome, and I did find it really simple. As ofer said, you just need some basic steps (beyond XHTML/CSS/Javascript knowledge) and that's it. You have it ready to go.

It makes fun not have to read an extensive documentation, and starting playing around as soon as possible.

(sorry the off, just wanted to aggregate my view about it too)

    Related to the extension:

I didn't know what "everymark" was about, but this is really useful. In fact, was searching a while ago for something like this. Thanks a lot!
