    Red face [New Ext]Jamendo Radio

Extension: Jamendo Radio - A music player extension for Google Chrome

    Developer: Skymt

    Latest version: v1.5.2

    Changelist:
    v1.5.2
Changes in the Jamendo API made song selection only pseudo-random.
This update gives a richer variety when using artists or albums as channel base.
But it is no longer allowed to use the &order= with those bases. It only works with tags.

    v1.5.1
Changes in the Jamendo API caused tag_idstr to stop working. Jamendo Radio now explicitly joins tracks to albums and albums to tags.

Project homepage: Hosted as open source at Google code.

Description: A radio player that plays songs from www.jamendo.com, a site that hosts CC-licensed music. It is quite customizable, but for more information, read the usage guide. But you can play music instantly, without configuration. Just install, open the popup, and click the Default link. (If you don't like that song, try hitting next).

    Compatability: Tested on 4.0.249.11

    Download: From project homepage.

I hope you like it. Feedback is welcome.

    Thanks!

I hope you'll find my contributions useful.

(Hm.. I'm having problem with google code's download page. I submitted the new version, but it seems only the summary got updated. When I download the file, I still get v1.4.5. But I'll upload it to the trunk instead, and re-point the link.)

I did, the link is http://www.chromeextensions.org/musi...jamendo-radio/

But the download link to the actual crx file is missing. I must have made a mistake when I updated the post to v1.5, and I am too unfamiliar with wordpress to figure out what. And I cannot find a email address to a site admin that can help me...

Jamendo changed their API slightly. I have therefore updated the radio to v1.5.1.

    Changes:
To be able to search, I had to explicitly join the track to album, and album to tag.
    This join was previously implicit...

Download links in the main post should point to the latest version...

(hm, seems to be very low activity in this thread. This will be the last time I bump it)

Good news everyone! Jamendo Radio version 1.6 is almost ready for shipping.

Extensive changes in the back-end now allows support for new channel-types, based on a users favorite albums, playlist(s) or JamRadio(s). This also affects site integration.

I have also included jQuery, so the album image now has a nice fading effect when it needs to be changed.
Too large player windows are also prevented now, and titles that don't fit, scroll from side to side...

The controls has also been updated. When playing fixed playlists (the playlists you get by clicking the play buttons on the Jamendo site), the stop button is replaced with a back button.

The downside is that this requires a new format on the "subset" string, one which can also include joins. I have made a simple upgrade function, but I would really like some help testing this. (It's kind of hard to guess how people format their subsets..)

    This is a call for beta-testers! :-)
Please reply here if you are interested.

Also, I want to include some form of support for skins. But I feel my own skills in graphical design are insufficient. I mean, look at that awful options page, so I need some help with this as well.

If you want to design a music player interface, and have it included as a skin in Jamendo Radio, please contact me, either by replying in this thread, or by sending me a mail!
