    Default [New Ext] Mouse Stroke - Use mouse strokes to accelerate your operations

    Extension: Mouse Stroke

    Homepage: https://chrome.google.com/extensions...kmbjdmhbcokfdb

    Developer: ganquan

    Latest Version: 1.9.4.2

    Download Latest Version: Please goto this page to download the latest version.
    Description:
    This is a Google Chrome extension which enables mouse strokes (also known as mouse gestures) in the browser.

    With this extension, you can perform common tasks by simply moving your mouse. For example, you can go back to the previous page in your browsing history by move you mouse left, then come back by move you mouse right. The full list of built-in strokes is in Mouse Stroke's option page, but what you can do with Mouse Stroke is not limited to that list, you can extend Mouse Stroke's functionality by creating powerful User Defined Strokes, find out how to do that here

    Features:
    Supported strokes:
    Previous Tab
    Next Tab
    New Window
    Close Window
    New Tab
    Close Tab
    Undo Close Tab
    Detach Tab
    and many more!

    Browser Compatibility: Developer build

    Additional Notes: Due to the security restrictions of Google Chrome extension system, the extension works in regular web pages only (any http:// or https:// sites) at this time, that means your strokes won’t work in pages like ‘chrome://newtab’ or ‘chrome://extensions’

    It killed AdBlock+ and Cleeki - Browser actions are gone. Also does not work with incompatible with Chrome Touch for apparent reason.

    Some bugs have been fixed in version 1.1, please try the new version

    Change Log
    v1.1
    + Add option_page in manifest.json
    * Remove all the chrome.tabs.executeScript() calls, which causes tons of problems, like freeze GMAIL, disable ADP+ and other extensions, slow down page navigations, etc.
    * Code structure change.
    * Categorize strokes in the options page.
    * Options page face lift.

    Thank you.

    I've got 1.5 installed and it works great.

    Good stuff! Thanks for this extension.

    One request would be a way to save out the current settings for import into another Chrome on another machine. I use a very different setup than 'default'.

    Or perhaps sync them to google docs so that it can be done transparently rather than manual import/export from a file that the user has to transport. No idea if that is possible but it appears to be how chrome does it's bookmarks sync IIRC.

    Cheers

    I like the approach you have taken to mouse gestures ...

    However I have a couple of comments ...

    It needs a 'drag and drop' option ...

    It needs the ability to work on all pages ...

    I know you have said on the customisation page that this is a Chrome security feature and I know the same thing applies in the nkGestures extension ...

    However the Chrome alternative, ChromePlus, manages to allow mouse gestures on all pages, so how come you can't do the same thing (or nkGestures for that matter)...

    I think that the first person to solve this issue in their extension will effectively corner the market ...

    Updated to 1.7
    The change logs are here

    @BrockStone
    Profile import/export has been in my mind for a while, file import/export may not be possible since Chrome extensions don't have access to the file system. Online sync seems to be a feasible solution but a stable (free) online hosting service is needed.

    @StevePaul
    What does the 'drag and drop' option do, can you give me some details on this?
    ChromePlus can do mouse gestures on all page, because it is a custom build of the Chrome browser, it may have modified some code of the browser itself. Mouse Stroke is an extension, it has to obey Chrome's security policies.

    @ganquan the drag and drop feature means you can drag and drop links somewhere on the screen and they are opened in a new tab - in nkgestures you can define a direction and when you drag them to this direction they are opened in a new foreground tab otherwise in a background tab. A pretty cool feature
