@jack400: I have no idea why that would happen, but perhaps something has become corrupt in your extensions folder. Have a look through the Troubleshooting thread for extension problems, and post a message there outlining exactly what's happening, as well as your Chrome version, other extensions used, and Operating System.

Heres one that has an options page and you can change the url or have a blank page.
I have no idea how to do html (can hardly do JS) so I ripped off the preference page from Bubble Translate so all credits to him [New Ext] Bubble Translate
Havent packed it to a crx, just thought you might like a look...

Nice PAEz. The only thing I don't like is that Chrome doesn't allow things to be added to the Options dialog, ie., new tabs with options for various extensions, etc. A whole web page with one or two options on it looks a bit odd I think. However, being able to change the redirect URL is neat, so thanks for adding that.

Totally agree with that one, even a drop down menu from the tool menu (or woteva its called) like "Extension Options" would be good.
That thing I made doesnt seem to work with local files by the way, could just be me.

My original thought on creating my own Speed Dials page was to just pack it into the extension, which should work fine. I won't be using it now though, as the latest version of Chromium has options to switch off the stupid New Tab page hints, and the bookmark sync.
