I have a bookmarklet that downloads any YouTube video. I didn't make it but it works great. Maybe the script in it can help with this extension?

Maybe start a new thread and link to it so people can check it out. I know the great thing about Blackcoils is that it appears integrated into the website, so it looks like a built-in feature. Also, I don't even download YouTube videos but having it also play the highest quality video by default is another awesome feature.

If you are trying to use the extension on Chrome v 3.0.189.0 it will not work because it hasn't been repackaged yet. I would recommend you use the user script version posted here: NEW YouTube Download Helper Extension

Make sure chrome is set to enable user scripts: Userscripts in Chrome

My chrome has the latest version 3. something, so this won't work?

Until BlackCoil repackages his extension you will need to use the user-script version posted.

how do I install the user script? sorry i'm very new to this. here's how my shortcut looks like: "C:\Documents and Settings\Paula\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --enable-user-scripts --enable-extensions

Download the user script to C:\Documents and Settings\Paula\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\User Scripts

i've downloaded the script and transferred it to C:\Documents and Settings\Paula\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\User Scripts but still there is no download option on the youtube site.
