Nowadays many people have big screen, so they can manipulate a lot of software window at the same time such as reading a pdf with full screen but still have a small notepad window at the top of the pdf page, where one can take some note or summarization. Of course google doc will be better because all notes will be on the net so as safer, but to my surprised the chrome window has a minimum width and it is too big to be a notepad because if it takes too much space and affect the smoothly reading(long and slim will be better).

It seems no way to solve it, can someone help?

And:

1.If one want to open a link in background tab with mouse gesture as the opera brower, is there any gesture-plug-in can do this?

2.It seems that there is no shortcut to immediately focus the address bar, in opera if you press "H", it will focus the address bar, so you can type nicknames of webpage or search engine. Is there any solution?

3.Some people get accustomed to tab-bar on the bottom of the window due to their big computer screen(tab-bar on the bottom is easy to reach), is there a way to put the tab-bar on on the bottom?

Do you mean 281 pixels is as long as the following dot-line? If yes, I think it is still too long, slimmer will be better.

If no, it must be my plug-ins. I have installed too many plug-ins(20-30),they consume a lot of space and create a not very tidy look.

EDIT: In fact, the minimum width is even smaller than that, if you do NOT show the Home button on the toolbar.

It is what I want, but how can I do this?
When I change the size to minimum, there are still two plugin icon and the address bar is very long, as long as the following dot-line:

1.How can I shorten the address bar?
2.How can I remove homepage button and other buttons that needn't show up when the size is minimum?
3.If the size is minimum, several plugins icon are disappear, how can I find them without change the size?

Here is how small I can make my chrome window. Dunno if that's what we're talking about though.

My minimum window are much bigger.

@Kuntakimp, as I mentioned in my first post, this minimum size is achieved without any extensions, or with all extensions disabled (the address bar shortens automatically by itself). The minimum width may be larger if there are some extension icons. This may or may not be a bug in Chrome; check http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/list to be certain.

Out of the remaining buttons from my screenshot, I believe the only button you can remove is the Home button. You can select that from Wrench menu > Options > Basics > UNcheck "Show Home button on the toolbar".

@Cherripez, did you achieve your super small Chrome window on Windows7 ? May I ask which version of Chrome you are using (from about:version) ? I believe it is actually a bug in Chrome if you can reduce the Chrome window to be that small. See:
