I deleted today by mistake a very nifty extension that allows quick searches and can't find it in Web Store. I don't remember the exact name.It pops up whenever you highlight some text as a small magnifying glass and clicking on it there pops up a wee text box with the highlighted text. you can click the icon to start search through Google or change the text and click for Google search.
