    Default Shortcut key for bookmarks

Is there a plugin, or some other way, to create hotkeys to open up bookmarks? I would like something like safari or opera does where ctrl+1 opens the first bookmark, ctrl+2 opens the second, etc. Those are already taken by the tab switcher, but I would like to set up something like that. Thanks

This seems like something that an extension could do.

This is the only thing stopping me from really using Chrome as I like to use the keyboard as opposed to the mouse. Roll on the day they create a keyboard shortcut for the bookmarks/favorites.

Bump, as ive yet to see this made,
The extension should add a textbar under the url when editing a bookmark (if possible)

    name: google
    URL: www.google.com
    hotkey: alt+shift+g

You can simulate this functionality by using this awesome extension.....

I checked out the Shortcut Manager extension but it does not have an action for "Other Bookmarks". Is there anyway of adding a keyboard shortcut to open this dropdown?

You can trick this into working by setting the bookmark as a search engine (I discovered this because this is how my quicksearch bookmarks were imported from Firefox).

Go to Tools > Options > Under "Default Search" select "Manage" then click "Add" and add your bookmark with the hotkey you want. If you want it to be a bookmark, not a search engine, just don't put "%s" anywhere in the URL string.
