thanks for sharing
The Chrome add-on is still under development and may be missing some features present in our other add-ons. It is usable though and we encourage anyone interested in Chrome to test it.
I can't spot any resume/info .. what does it do..
Its a crowd sourced site security rating system. If you do a web search the symbols will pop up next to results. If you know a website is a problem site you can rate it as such. I've kept Googles malware and phishing enabled but this is a nice add. Its popular on Firefox so there is a lot of feedback on websites.
I've installed the wot chrome plugin after clicking on two url's (solsticesound.com and fotisnetworks.com) which resolved to this site: claraelena8.cn (don't go there!) It is a spoof of a windows virus alert which attempts to download an executable file. I entered negative ratings for both sites. I already had this for Firefox, I'm glad WOT released a Chrome plugin!
Thanks for WOT, I missed it :-)
Seems works fine
This is fantastic news. For the poster above who was asking what this is, that was answered by another poster. I do want to add, though, that IMO this is the best of the pack for the extensions/services that offer these features. I guess I'm really not surprised that the best of the pack has also taken the lead and become the first to port their offering to Chrome. With this, an adblocker, XMarks, and LassPass, the list of remaining extensions that I enjoy on Firefox that haven't yet been either ported or replicated on Chrome is dwindling rapidly. Now, if someone will just create equivalents for NoScript, PageZipper, and CS Lite, I'd be 100% whole again with Chrome!!!
By the way, to the authors of Web of Trust, XMarks, LastPass, and others who have taken the time and (perhaps) risk of porting these extensions to Chrome, thank you, thank you, thank you.... I have a feeling that Chrome's relatively small user base is largely because of the relative sparsity of extensions, but I also believe that as more extension authors take a chance and port their goods, that one reason for holding out and sticking to other browsers will diminish and we'll really see a growth in the usage.
An extension I've been waiting for. Thank you very much for sharing.
WOT is very good extensions! I want test on chrome! thankyou for sharing!
