and how exactly zipping suspicious files would make a browser more secure? it would not prevent the user from double clicking the file after unzipping, so it does not really matter when he will get infected.

yea, but it would give the user atleast a chance to make the right choice and, delete the file, if he doesnt know what it is..

btw new additions:

CPU handling - dormant tabs, shouldnt be loaded, if their opened in bulk, untill the user clicks the tab (i opened 60 bookmarks at once, and my cpu spiked quite a bit)

Arrange By: like windows, but for bookmarks, and tabs

PatternFinder: if you do any repetitive task (even with slight url variation)
google writes a script to do it for you, automatically, and ask you if you would like to use it, with options like fast execution, or real time (it takes the same time the user did)

lets say i have a browser game, where i have multiple (20) bases, and want to send out people from each first i would do one/two of them myself:

next I would do the same thing but the url would say Base2

now google picks up on this pattern...

it ask me if i want to follow the same pattern(s) as base 2
then it would do the same thing, but with the alternate url
It would probably read the webpage, and find the link that best matches each step, but with a variation, prompting, if it gets confused for user input
from there on, it would be a 1 click for each of the 17 others..
(or maybe a right click option for it instead)

I do alot of very repetitive task, and yes i do need to open 60 tabs at a time... (for those repetitive task), im sure others do a bit of repetitive stuff and could use this to

GoogleAI: would chat with your friends on forums and stuff for you
or maybe be set up to only answer questions (googling for results ofc)

Text detection: would search pictures, for any text they may include in them creating a text document with all the text (if its like a paper), or if it were like a room, it would create a .html page, that has a really light version of the picture for the background, and the text would be placed where it is found in the picture apropriately
(converted to face forward, and a standard scale, and in its own table, so it can be selected seperately and cut/pasted somewhere else)

Google Citation manager: Probably not for chrome, but i might as well list it...
Users type something+!ByDate! (or sumthin), and it would bring up the oldest version of that text, on googles record

Google Cmds: some commands that can be input into the browsing url, to preform stuff btw ! probably wouldnt be the operator
such as:
!File! which would open a file selection window, for opening in chrome
!OptionOff!+name of a plugin/option you currently have installed
!SaveTo! would change the save location path, for files (maybe perma, or untill browser is shut off)
!LockDown! would lock down all bandwith usage, pausing all downloads ect
!Help! would bring up help menue, with a list of cmds, and other help stuffs
!Unbrowse! pauses session and prompts how far back you want to erase, and if you want to include downloaded files
!Chat! (message) would prompt google with a question, it would use its AI to form a reply, and could be talked to like an ordinary conversation.. (this is just for fun ofc)
!NotToSelf! this would then write whatever you put next into a notepad (along with the time/date you said it)
!Style#! would automatically change googles skin to one of the skins you downloaded before

Noting, a few of my options are already in the browser, i just missed them, and didnt find them in the documentations
there really should be, including some cmds: "aboutlugins, ect" although it could use more cmds, and a help file that documents them all, and maybe a cmd to get to it about:help?

Addons DragAndDrop so you can put your addons, in the bookmarks, and get rid of that extra space down there..
Downloads Folder instead of showing all the downloads all the time, all the downloads should be placed in a single folder, beside the other bookmarks folder, the downloads bar is just to bulky

Tabs/bookmark marking, so you can choose the color of a single tab to mark it, or make that tab automatically open in that color, from a bookmark (bookmarks should also corrispond to the tabs color, maybe with a colored ring around the bookmark, that matches the tabs color)
java redirection doesnt always work, www.deviantart (the next/previous buttons)

btw if you know of any of theese already done, please tell me, and ill gray them out of the list

The only feedback I have BT is that a lot of your suggestions are excellent, but I think most of them should be extensions.

I use Drupal for constructing web sites, and it's an amazing system. Does very little out of the box, but has a very powerful and tight core, with almost any database and interface functionality you can think of provided by extensions. You decide what you want it to do, how extensible you want it to be, and you essentially create a CMS system of your own. Beats everything else hands down, as you can keep it fast and mean, or still pretty fast but able to do a hundred things.

It's a basic fact that the more you add to the core, the slower it loads. The more interlinked functions you add, the more it slows down. Like the more you put in your pockets, the more you weigh: there's no way around that. Chrome should stay minimalistic and extremely fast, with users given the option to turn it into another Firefox with extensions should they choose to.

Im all for extensions ^^, and a few of them i wrote extension by..
but alot of them are common enough, they should be built in to the browser.
the fact that somethings built in, greatly increases its security aspect, ensures that those less aware of its existance as an extension can get use of it. and ofcourse its disableable.

Id love it if google themselfs had a sugested extensions link that came with the browser. One with only the best extensions.
Out of all the extensions currently out there, i only activly use 2
the popup blocker, and tabsearch. although i do have imacros in disabled status
thats also why i use my extensions in the bookmarks row ^^

but yea i think ill further split the sugestions to extensions also
once i split them, you mind going through the list, telling me if any dont belong in the group i put them

Well, apart from not thinking my opinion will change much about Chrome (although I do have a minor rant now and then and hope the developers care), I'm won't be online so much over the next few weeks.

From what I've seen of Chrome and its variants over the last few months, as well as new versions of other browsers, I think it's a more complex issue than it seems at first. There are many questions to consider, such as interface design and the impact of additions, speed in loading and general use, and of course length of time and work involved in adding new features. Google, of course, will focus on adding things which promote their other products, but I hope they keep them optional, as I find most of Google's online 'tools' to be a waste of time.

Perhaps this list would be better on the development site, where team programmers and others who like to discuss ongoing developments will get involved?

I love extensions and all, but unless extensions can directly modify the source code of the browser, they are not as functional as they could be....

This being said, I beg of google to find a way to make programs run in "Open Source mode" for their new OS, (this meaning that the Os automatically compiles the program for you, and stores the Open copy, "inside" the compiled one (as a description or something, that once edited, updates the compiled version to match. It wouldnt have to compile every time, and ofcourse It should still run all other programs (even if there not open source)

Imagine an OS where everything is customizable, even the OS itself (other than maybe the compiler, and security software)

I dont know if these has already been said or if they already exists but:

An easy way to turn plugins off and on with out enable and disable

Allowing multiple content scripts within a plugin

Better documentation for plugin development

an easy way to manage which plugins are visible at what time like windows does

A way to view all you currently installed plugins source files with out and hassle

A floating bar like in Avant browser when the user hovers over an image, lets the user choose to save make the image bigger in its current position not in a separate page, email and a range of other features

Built in torrenting and music player, this wouldn't be a massive ad don to the size of chrome as micro torrent is only 220 kb's in size and a basic media player is only tiny as well.
