Short question. Can you sync bookmarks using Chrome sync without getting dupes?

I ran into the issue with dev build that LastPass stopped working. So I backed off to an older version in beta channel. Then the issue was I lost all my favicons in bookmarks. Someone suggested using Chrome sync to sync bookmarks.

I tried this and got favicons back. But I had like triplicate bookmarks. Rather than delete by hand I turned sync off. Then I used XMarks to upload my Firefox bookmarks, then downloaded using XMarks in Chrome. So I got my favicons back. But instead of going through that ritual every time favicons disappear I wonder if there's a setting to just Upload/Download all bookmarks using Chrome sync as you can with XMarks?

Just directly importing like .html bookmarks from Firefox doesn't work. The same dupe issue pops up. Seems like the only things that work without dupes are extensions that let you upload all, and download all in addition to regular syncing.

Hmmmmmm seems to be working all of a sudden in 7.0.503.0 using built-in sync. No dupes and I have favicons. Fingers crossed.
