    Default Chrome Extension System

Is the Chrome Extension system as robust as Firefox's? At least at this point, it's still limited, albeit much more useful than it was at the humble begginings, but is there hope that some day we may be able to see Chrome doing things like selective file saving or a viable alternative to adBlock+ ?

I think it's more robust that Firefox's, but fare from having all the same features as in Firefox.. But it will come over time, I think it's better that they test it well and don't rush it through so we end up with the same design errors and bugs as we have seen Firefox run into.. But as Chrome OS will be presented in oktober, the need for the extension system to finish grows, so I think in the new year, early 2010 we will see the extension system go live for real, but it's really hard to say :=)

Yes, they're working on propositions for APIs as they come, even one for the downloading. They however do take quite a bit of time to refine the API ideas ever so perfectly before someone attempts to implement them, which is probably better in the long run. (Less need for authors to constantly update their extensions.)

Thank you, it's good to hear that. The browser has come a long way and it would be sad to see it stalling behind.
