Hmmm... I can't get any of the apps from this forum to install as apps. They show in my extensions page, but never show up as apps.
And yes, I have apps enabled. I have three or four other webapps I downloaded and installed that work perfectly fine. It only seems to be an issue with the ones from this forum. Is something missing in the manifest to make it a webapp?

Just had a look, it seems the code has changed in a while. They were last worked in in May/June. So this must have updated, I am working on a few new one's so... hopefully it should work.

There has been an update to the format for webapp's manifest.json in July. Old webapps will not work. For details, see:

Also, I'm not sure whether website origin verification for webapps is now enforced or not.

I don't believe this is the issue, I have installed several that were downloaded from different webpages. I do know that they won't install directly. You have to save them to disk first, then drag them into a Chrome window.

Is there a way to unpack these so I can make the adjustments myself? I'm sure I could edit them, I've just not been able to see how to open them.

@StevePaul hmmm... I'm not sure where they were at. I found them the same way I found these, through Googling. Sorry, if I find anymore links I can post some for you.

guardian: I think .crx files are simply renamed .zip files, so extracting them with something like 7-zip should do the job I think.

That's what I thought too, SifJar, but none of the ones downloaded from here will open in zip. They all say invalid archive.
