    :-)

    I download Chromium every time there is an update when I am awake and that's at least 12 downloads a day

    for flashcontrol, try this extension
    http://ruzanow.ru/extensions/flashblock.crx
    (same author as AdBlock+ for Chrome)
    use Alt+F to toggle

    @sulasno

    "3rd party developers should concentrate on adding features to the stable version instead of the dev version IMO"

    In actual fact both ChromePlus and SunChrome have versions that are based on a 'Stable' build (3.0.193.0) ...

    I'm not quite sure what you would look to 'add' to this particular build to bring 'added value' ...

    However in both 'offerings', in varying degrees, they do have IE Mode, Mouse gestures (Super Drag 'n Drop), Download Tool support ...

    Obviously CRX Themes and Extensions would be a bit of a problem ('till they update their builds)...

    I'd be interested to know what you think they should be concentrating on adding at this particular level ...

    I'd be more than happy to pass comments on to their relevant forums on your behalf ...

    if you keen to keep ChromePlus current, have you thought of downloading the current version of Chrome and extract it to ChromePlus's folder?

    I think we're at cross purposes here ...

    As far as CP goes I'm on the latest version (4.0.206.0), just waiting for their latest update...

    Obviously waiting for the dev channel to settle back down again before updating their base config (sensible after all the hassle we've had the last few updates)

    Thought you were being rhetorical with your question ...

    I'm not sure that multiple closed-source variations of Chromium simply to add a few features is a good idea, or the best or most effective 'future' for Chrome.

    It's certainly true that ChromePlus has some nice new features, or rather, has added ones available on Firefox and other browsers (natively, or thru extensions). But I'd rather see all that brainpower and effort devoted to Chromium variations put to use instead into developing Chrome-usable bookmarklets, user scripts, or extensions (whichever has the least impact on Chromium's CPU and memory footprint) to accomplish the same things, so that the Chrome/Chromium community as a whole can benefit, not just those who choose to go down a different fork.

    In other words, if I simply must have mouse gestures, I'd rather run Chromium with nkGestures rather than going down the ChromePlus path.

    @fxf

    Totally concur with your comments ...

    However ...

    You miss the point of my post ...

    Eventually Chrome WILL (hopefully) have all of these features, but Google has been slow in implementing even the most basic of features ...

    In the meantime we have something like ChromePlus that can 'showboat' what Chrome is capable of ...

    As for nkGestures I was an advocate of this extension when it first became available, the only problem is that currently it doesn't work on the NewTab or Chrome pages (I've posted an issue on their forum), which ChromePlus does !!

    So, for the timebeing, I'll stick with ChromePlus ...

    At the end of the day (as with all things), it's a personal thing ;-)
